SEMESTER IV - READING AND REFLECTION

READING AND REFLECTION

1. Anatomy and Physiology : - Dr. Savithri

Introduction : - Anatomy forms the basis of medical science . it helps us to understand the structure of the body parts and their relationship of one another.

Reflection on external detail : Editor - Dr. M. K. C. Nair
                                                                 Director, Child Development centre

Reflection on internal detail : Digestive system , Skeletal System , Circulatory System , Respiratory system , muscular System , Sense System etc.

Insight Drawn : I understand about the topics of anatomy are gross / Macroscopic anatomy - study of the body as a whole , as visible to the naked eye which include regional anatomy, system anatomy , surface anatomy.

Conclusion : Living organism requires nutrients and oxygen for survival and growth . We get all these things from the food but the body cannot utilize the food material in the form as we eat.

2. Biology text book for class - XII :- National council of Educational Research           and Training

Introduction    : Biology in essence is the story of life on earth . While individual organisms die without fail, species continue to live through millions of years unless threatened by natural anthropocentric extinction .

Reflection on external detail   : First edition - 2006
                                                               Reprint - 2015

Reflection on internal detail : Under unfavourable condition the Ameoaba withdrawn its pseuopodia and secretes a three layered hard covering or cyst around itself. The sex determination in honey bee is based on the number of sets of chromosomes an individual recieves. Mendel's studies mainly described those traits that have distinct alternate forms such as flower colour which are either purple or white.

Insight Drawn: Each organisms has an invariably defined range of condition that is tolerate , diversity in the resource it utilises and a distinct functional role in the ecological system , all these together comprises its niche.

Conclusion : The growth of biology as  natural science during the last 1000 years is interesting from many points of view. One feature of this growth is changing empgasis.

3.  Biology Text Book for Class - XI  - National council of Educational Research  and Training

Cover and layout - Shweta Rao

Reflection on internal detail:    The living world is rich in variety . Millions of plants and animals have be identified and described but a large number still remains unknown. The taxonomic studies of various species of plants and animals are useful in Agriculture , Forestry , Industry and in general for knowing our bio - resources and their diversity.

Insight Drawn : Green plants make their own food by photosynthesis. Some tropical plants show a special type of photosynthesis called C4 pathway.

Conclusion : Biology is the science of life forms and living processes . The discovery of the double helical structure of DNA and the deciphering of three dimensional Structure of many macro molecules led to establishment of and phenomenal growth in the dominating area of molecular biology.

SEMESTER IV - ACHIEVEMENT TEST

                        ACHIEVEMENT TEST

Introduction : Every teacher wants to find out the progress made by his pupil in the subject be teach achievement at a particular stage has to be accessed in terms of his master in the curricular provisions anticipated for that stage as well as the realized one of the objectives respected.

Characteristics of Achievement Test

⦁      If measures how much a students has achieved.
If gives due weightage to objective content forms of questions and difficulty levels in general.

Steps

1. Planning of the test
2. Preparation of the design
3. Preparation of blue print
4. writing o them
5. Preparation of the scoring key and marking key
6. preparation of questionnaire analysis.

Design of an achievement test

Standard       : IX
Mark             : 30
Time              : 45 minutes
Subject           : biology
Unit                : Samasthithi palikkan , chalanathintte jeevashasthram.

Statistical Analysis :

Frequency distribution , histogram , frequency polygon, frequency curv , ogive , Measured of central - mean , median , mode  ; quartile deviation , mean deviation , standard deviation

Interpretation :

calculated voice of mean : 22.63

calculated voice of SD : 3.95

                   mean + SD = 22.63 + 3.95 = 26.63

                   mean - SD = 22.63 - 3.95 = 18.68

The above average students = 6

The below average student = 8

The average students = 23

SEMESTER IV - DIAGNOSTIC TEST

RECORD OF DIAGNOSTIC  TEST

Introduction : If individual instruction is to attain maximum effectiveness . It must be based on educational diagnosis. It must be based on educational diagnosis . The tools of diagnosis are not as diagnostic test.

Construction of a good diagnostic test : Diagnostic test my be standardized or teacher made . A teacher made test beside being more economical are also more effective as each teacher can form the list according to the specific needs of the students.

The stage preparation of diagnostic test are

planning

writing item
providing division
preparing scoring key and marking scheme.
receiving the test

Levels of diagnosis :

Diagnostic test help to find out the pupil who need help.
The nature and the area of difficulties.
The remedial measures
The measures to prevent error's
To identify problem.

Principle of diagnostic test : It should be contromous process it should be an integrated part on curriculum.

Use of diagnostic test : The diagnostic test will reveal the comprehensive way to enact level of pupil difficulties.

Diagnosis : The identified problem

Remedial suggestions : Give the idea the historical events through explaining the portion.

Conclusion : I have taken biology class for 9th standard students at Leo xiii HSS Pulluvila
